Anita is a lawyer with extensive experience in human rights in Africa spanning over 12 years. She is passionate about human rights litigation including women and children’s rights, human trafficking amongst other discipline. Anita comes with a wealth of experience in constitutional law litigation, specifically addressing systemic challenges to ensure the protection of the most vulnerable. Additionally, she has vast experience dealing with regional and international courts and laws including The Maputo Protocol, The African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights and various UN conventions for legal advocacy. She obtained her Law degree from Moi University in Kenya and at the Queen Mary University in London where she obtained her Master’s degree in Public International Law and a Post Graduate Diploma in Women’s Human Rights Law. She is also currently pursuing her doctoral studies at the Center for Human Rights at the University of Pretoria. Anita is a trained Mediator, and an avid reader who speaks English, Swahili and French.
